Heart Disease Anatomical Chart
With updated images and text and improved design elements, this new edition chart provides an easy-to-understand overview of the important anatomical aspects of heart disease. The progression of heart disease is shown in 3 stages, each with an anatomical image of the surface or cross-section of the heart, a cross-section of an artery and a cross-section of heart wall. The stages show how a narrowed artery leads to ischemia; a blocked artery leads to a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and shows the recovery period with collateral blood supply.
Also shows heart disease in hypertension which can lead to hypertrophy and dilation of the left ventricle. Shows and describes congestive heart failure, mitral valve prolapse and the effects of aging on the heart.
For comparison, the chart also contains illustrations of normal heart anatomy, including anterior surface and across-sections of the heart. Also shows the systems coronary arteries on the heart and a cross-section of a normal coronary artery.

Heart Conditions Anatomical Chart
Contains a large image of a normal heart for easy comparison with these important cardiac conditions. Visually and textually describes heart murmurs, cardiac arrhythmias, congenital heart defects, acquired heart defects and high cholesterol & its consequences. Specifically:
Defines heart murmurs and their causes. Shows coarctation of the aorta, ventricular septal defect and mitral valve prolapse.
Describes common cardiac arrhymias (abnormal heart rates & rhythms) tachycardia, bradycardia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular arrythmias. Shows the sites of common cardiac arrhythmias by section of the heart: sinus node, ventricular, atrial and junctional arrhythnmas, as well as atrioventricular (AV) blocks.
Defines and shows the following common congenital (present at birth) defects: patent ductus arteriosus, atrial septal defect and ventricular septal defect.
Textually and visually shows acquired heart defects myocarditis, rheumatic heart disease, cardiomyopathy and Kawaski's disease.
Describes high cholesterol, coronary heart disease (CAD) and hypertension (high blood pressure). Shows how cholesterol is transported in the blood, the structure of a typical lipoprotein (which carries the cholesterol throughout the body), and the consequence of high cholesterol atherosclerosis plaque clogged arteries.
