Stages of disc prolapse and lumbar vertebral degeneration

The model illustrates degenerative changes to the vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs of the lumbar spine in various degrees. Based on the original cast of a human lumbar spine, even finest bone structures are accurately depicted. The following conditions are shown from top to bottom:

• Intervertebral disc in healthy condition
• Lumbar vertebra (L1) without degenerative changes
• Intervertebral disc with protrusion
• Lumbar vertebra (L2) with beginning degenerative changes
• Intervertebral disc with medial prolapse
• Lumbar vertebra (L3) with advanced degenerative changes
• Intervertebral disc with intraforaminal prolapse on the right
• Lumbar vertebra (L4) with strong degenerative changes and bony constriction of the left intervertebral foramen
• Extremely narrowed intervertebral disc
• Lumbar vertebra (L5) with strong degenerative changes and bony constriction of the left intervertebral foramen with pressure on the spinal nerve root L5 on the left.

Four Stage Lumbar Vertebrae Set

This model features 4 pairs of life-size lumbar vertebrae in 3 stages of degeneration. Shown are a normal pair of lumbar vertebrae, a pair with a bulging herniated disc, a vertebrae set with bone and disc degeneration, and finally, advanced osteoporosis with serious bone compression and bone spurs. Models do not dissect but can be removed for individual inspection and study. Includes removable patient education cards.

Deluxe Muscled Cervical Vertebrae Model w/ Anatomy Education Card

Full size model features brain stem, occipital bone, atlas and axis through C7, with herniated disc, T1 and T3. This model has a soft cerebellum, full nerve with right side brachial plexus. Muscles include suboccipital triangle, longus capitis, levator scapulae, scalenus medius posterior and anterior. The right first and second ribs are also featured and include cartilage.
