Depicted in full relief and enhanced with handpainted colors, this giant human brain replica initially divides into hemispheres. 73 neuroanatomical structures are hand coded on the left hemisphere, while 22 are coded on the right, which further divides in two. The right half of the brain stem and cerebellum then detach as a unit, revealing an additional 35 coded features. In all, 130 features coded on the model are identified in the accompanying key, with all twelve cranial nerves itemized in standard Roman numeral notation. Portraying the base of the human head, this life-size nonbreakable replica features a detailed brain, complete with arterial blood vessels, including the basilar artery and Circle of Willis, cranial nerves, and dissectible brain stem.

The entire brain can be lifted from the cranial vault and separated in seven parts. The right cerebral hemisphere divides along its length following the border of the corpus callosum, while the left can be split to expose the posterior horn of the lateral ventricle and hippocampus.
